Timber Machining Service

Working on a project but don’t have the tools, time, or space to prep your timber? I offer a small-scale bespoke machining service to help get your materials project-ready — from dressing rough-sawn boards to cutting curves or simple cut-to-size jobs.

The workshop is fully equipped, and I’m happy to help with jobs big or small!

All rates include operator and machine use (wet hire), with a one-hour $75 minimum charge.
Please note that for small, quick jobs, I can sometimes waive, or reduce the minimum charge — just ask.

Rates:

$75/hr for tablesaw work, tracksaw use, precision sheet material cutting, and other simpler setups.

$100/hr for resawing, jointing, and thickness planing — these machines involve more setup, wear and tear, and regular blade sharpening.

You're welcome to supply your own timber, or I can help source it. Please make sure timber is clean and free of nails or screws — I’ve got a metal detector available for salvaged or secondhand pieces.

To help quote accurately, it’s useful to include the following:
- Timber species, size, and condition
- What machining is needed (e.g. cutting, dressing, curves)
- How much material you’re working with
- What it’s being used for
- Any drawings, sketches, or photos you can share

Some tasks may be weather dependent, but I’ll always let you know whats possible.
